465 Series Softail Shock w/RAP
465 Series Softail Shock w/RAP
The 465 Series R.A.P. (Remote Adjustable Preload) is a state of the art high pressure gas monotube shock design for the new Harley-Davidson M8 Softail models. It utilizes a large 46mm bore with deflective disc damping, preload adjustable threaded body and a 5 position rotatable rebound damping adjuster. The beefy 16mm hard chrome shaft rides on custom viton seals for a low friction and leak free life. Every shock includes a R.A.P. mounting bracket and instructions on various R.A.P. mounitng options depending on your bike model.
Available in 12.2", 12.6", 13.1" & 13.5" shock lengths with a 2:1 motion ratio in a Standard or Heavy-Duty spring rate featuring approximately 0.8”-1” ride height increments for M8 Softail Models. Each shock is hand-built, tuned and dyno’d and come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
HOW R.A.P. WORKS (See the Diagram in the Gallery Section below for visual guidance)
The Remote Adjustable Preload mechanism features an adjustment knob for quick and easy hand adjustment of the 465's preload. If your rear suspension feels too soft or bottoms out on bumps you can rotate the R.A.P. dial clockwise to stiffen the shock. To soften the shock for a smoother ride turn the R.A.P. dial counter-clockwise. The R.A.P. is ideal for quickly tuning your ride with a passenger vs riding solo.

Every shock includes a R.A.P. mounting bracket. The R.A.P. (Remote Adjust Pre-Load) feature is a hydraulic system that allows for easy spring pre-load adjustment and can be installed with the R.A.P. adjuster mounted in either of the original equipment mount locations (depending on your particular Softail model). Under the seat (R.A.P. knob removed & adjustments made with an 8mm wrench) or behind and forward of the right side panel (knob installed).
